"Win a ring for the King"

Shaq is on a mission this season:

INDEPENDENCE, Ohio -- Shaquille O'Neal has one purpose in Cleveland: bring an NBA title to LeBron James and the Cavaliers.
"My motto is very simple," the 15-time All-Star center said Thursday. "Win a ring for the King."
Acquired in a trade last week with the Phoenix Suns, O'Neal was introduced Thursday by the Cavaliers, who believe he can be their missing piece. The city of Cleveland has been waiting since 1964 for one of its three pro sports franchises to win a championship.

Who thinks this will be a mission impossible?

It's very likely to happen, I see the Cavs as one of the best defenders (I know they where already one of the best but now with Shaq they got some crazy defense) If they are actually able to sign Artest to a deal then they'll be a hell of a defensive team. Their offense is really great as well and they have made some big changes to their team the last two years, Shaq... go get your king his ring... And tell Kobe how your ass tastes.

Not missing impossible. As far as I'm concerned, if Shaq can stay healthy and wants to win (which I know he does) then he's going to have a very strong post season run.

I think if anything there will be chemistry issues. If Shaq wanted more shots in Phoenix, I can't see where with shoot first guards like Mo and Delonte, not to mention LBJ, where they will come from.

LBJ is so gonna bolt at the end of his contract.

Seriously, Detroit are going to be so bad this season, that if they merged with the Lakers. I'm pretty sure they'll be worse.

Re: "Win a ring for the King"

The Cavs are definitely a contending team. Their main concern is Magic though, cause they are the team they must beat before going to the finals.

    SIM LEAGUE - Sacramento Kings
RE-DRAFT SIM LEAGE - Phoenix Suns
SIM LEAGUE II - Dallas Mavericks

It ain't mission impossible. The NBA could make this happen. David Stern will work his 'magic' and all of the sudden you will see LA vs. Cleveland in the finals. LeBron vs Kobe. Shaq vs Kobe. Shaq's last chance to get a ring. The race for the 5th ring between Shaq and Kobe. Cleveland's last bid for LeBron to stay in Cleveland. The start of the LeBron-Kobe era.

    Think about it

I here ya VG. Conspiracy theorys are sure to abound if it is a LA - CLE finals series. But I question that it's the beginning of Kobe - LBJ era. Kobe won't be around much longer, and he has peaked, that is, he will be on a decline from here.

Truth. But I'm thinking if I had said it was the LeBron James era then that would be a bit homerific.
Only people like Wilt, Jordan, Mikan could have that sort of impact, to like cancel out the entire league.
